Care & Support
Care & Support
Faith Church is a family of families. Some families have parents and children. Some families have no children. Some families are missing a parent. Some families are comprised of singles. We have all kinds of families in our church. But we have one thing in common: We are all a part of the Faith Church family, and we care about one another. Being a Christian does not free us from the struggles of life. We still suffer losses: losses of health, losses of relationships, losses of income, losses of loved ones, losses of dreams. When those losses come into our lives, we need the help and support of one another. God’s Word commands us to bear one another’s burdens. We do so, out of obedience to God, and out of love for one another. There are a variety of ministries at Faith Church that enable us to do so in specific ways.
Stephen Ministries
Stephen Ministries is composed of men and women who have received extensive training to walk with those at Faith Church who are going through a life crisis and who need a listening ear and a faithful friend. They may be going through the pain of the loss of a loved one, or a divorce, or other struggle in life that seems too much for them to face alone. When someone is going through such a struggle in their lives, we offer to pair them up with a Stephen Minister, men with men and women with women, who will meet with them on a regular basis, and who will be their special friend throughout the duration of their crisis. Many men and women who attend Faith Church have been the recipients of a Stephen Minister, and attest to the incredible help and comfort their Stephen Minister was during their time of crisis and loss.
Inner Healing Ministry
Many people carry the burden of emotional pain, perhaps the carryover of events from their distant past. Emotional pain such as depression, anxiety, guilt and fear, as well as destructive behaviors stemming from them such as obsessive/compulsive behaviors, panic attacks and problems with intimacy can often be healed through prayer and a discerning of the source of the emotional pain. Many people at Faith Church have experienced a genuine healing in their lives as a result of what God is doing in our inner healing ministry.
Prayer Ministry
Most Christians believe in the power of prayer, but many do not understand how powerful prayer really is. God has chosen to give power to prayer. Although He could do anything He wants to do in the absence of prayer, God has chosen to do many things only as the result of the faithful prayers of His people. We at Faith Church have seen many answers to prayer, and we have seen genuine miracles of healing through the faithful prayers of our church family. So we have a Prayer Ministry at Faith Church to focus our prayer efforts. We have a telephone prayer chain, an email prayer chain, and a weekly prayer meeting Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm, open to everyone who wants to come and pray for the needs of others.
Small Groups
Our busy society continues to squeeze intimacy with others out of our lives. Sometimes, even church itself is not a sufficiently intimate community for us in which to establish and develop lasting friendships and relationships. We believe that people need small groups that meet regularly for food, fellowship, sharing and Bible study in order to have and develop those relationships. While being a member of a small group is not a requirement at Faith Church, we believe that participation in a small group is a very important part of becoming a part any church family. So we have a small group ministry that provides opportunities for newcomers to affiliate with a worship or fellowship or Bible study group within Faith Church.
